After several years working for a wholesale distributor in Janesville, I decided to take a chance and get my real estate license. That was in 2005. While still working full time so I could continue to make my house payment, I attempted to do real estate on nights and weekends. That didn’t work. However, after getting a taste of this business, I knew I was hooked and wanted to jump in full time. So, in January 2006 I put my home in Janesville on the market and told my boss when it sold I would be gone. Ninety days later I relocated to the Town of Rome to live with my parents and pursue my dream full time. 

I quickly learned that relocating to an area where I didn’t know anyone, in a business where it’s all about who you know, was going to be a challenge. That’s when I decided to get involved with the community. To start, I joined the Friends Group for the local Humane Society, which then led to me joining the Board of Directors, which I served on for 6 years. I also enrolled in the Leadership class through the Heart of Wisconsin, graduating with the class of 2013. I also became the co-founder of the Wisconsin Rapids Area Young Professionals, now Current. Today, I sit on the Board of Directors for our local United Way, and help out with various other fundraisers in the community. 

In 2016, after 10 years in the business, a few of my colleagues and I decided it was time to make a big change. We wanted to create a new real estate office that reflected the values we believed in. These values included putting clients first, always. Only having Agents that are full time and dedicated to this industry the same way we are, and creating a culture within our office where people work together as one team with a common goal, serving others. After a lot of research we found NextHome, which is a franchise based in California that holds the same values we do. 

On December 1st 2016, my partners and I opened the doors to NextHome Partners. To start, there was myself and my 3 partners, along with 3 other full time Realtors. After our first full year in business, we finished #1 in our market, and we are proud to say we have remained #1 ever since. Today, there are 14 of us working together to serve the Wisconsin Rapids area. I strongly believe the key to our success is our dedication to the clients we serve, along with how we treat each other.  

As one of the co-owners of NextHome Partners, my job duties have expanded greatly. While I still sell full-time working with both buyers and sellers, I also oversee all of the marketing our office does, and assist with day to day operations. In order to stay on top of what is going on with this ever changing industry, I regularly attend both state and national conferences and attend classes so we can continue to provide the best service to our clients. Furthermore, I obtained my Brokers license in 2019.

After all this, I think what I’m most proud of is the fact that the majority of my business comes from referrals by past clients. That’s the biggest compliment I can ever receive, and one I will be forever grateful for.
